I shoot mostly 100 & 200Yds.   500yds about 2 days/mo. and 1000yds maybe 2 to 3 times a yr.

These are what I'm considering:

Leupold VX-II  6-18X40  Fine duplex

Weaver Grand Slam 6-20X40 Varminter Plex

Burris Signature 6-24X44 Fine Plex Target knobs

Burris Signature 8-32X44 Fine Plex Target Knobs

Thanks,

Rick

What kind of rifle?

The Burris 8-32x Signature Select is a nice scope, but probably does not have the adjustment to get out to 1000 yards, or even 500, depending on

the trajectory of your rifle. Going to their 30mm tube version helps but there is a big increase in price. You can go to 20MOA angled bases (if

available for your rifle, or just make some) or Burris Signature rings with offset inserts can help, but sometimes when switching loads you can't get it to

shoot low enough at short range.

Bottom line, whatever you choose, make sure you're getting enough elevation adjustment.

Thanks Hangfire,

Maybe I'm asking too much for one scope.  I shoot different calibers in my T/C Encore and H&R singleshot rifles including 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, 17 Rem., 223 Ackley Improved, 222 Rem. Mag. Ackley Imp., 6mmX444Marlin.  I mostly target shoot but occasionally shoot a coyote and crow.
