    Posted: March/21/2004 at 11:46

Okay, got a new wrinkle in finding a better scope for my NDM-86. The cheekrest on the buttstock is designed to use a scope that's offset to the left. I know I can get an offset mount w/1" rings but not w/30mm rings. There's another mount w/Weaver rail that I'm investigating and if it's offset then that's obviously the way to go since I can then use any type/size rings I wish. However, if it's *not* offset then I'm probably stuck w/the offset mount w/1" rings. Which means any new scope must have a 1" body, objective no greater than 42mm and preferably w/mildot reticle & sufficient elevation adjustment out to 900yds. So, within those parameters what are my choices for a decent-but-not-too-pricey scope? Thanks!...

Either the new Leupold Mark 4 PR series or the Weaver Tactical would be excellent.

The Leupold is 1/4 and the Weaver is 1/8.

The Leupold Mark 4 PR 3-9x40 looks very good for my needs, albeit right at the upper limit of my budget. Thx!...
