Well here's my first step into the long range /precision rifle set up.

Savage 10FP-LE2 in 308 win w/ accutrigger, Choate ultimate sniper stock, Farrell g-force base, Warne Maxima QD rings holding my 16x42 Super Sniper.I have the butler creek flip open cover but this pic was took before I put them on. Hopefully it'll get it's first day at the range this weekend.

Let me know what you think, I'm right proud of it myself.

Scott

Scott,

Thats a slick stick you have there. The Savages a great shooters, you are going to be quite pleased with your new toy. Keep us informed on how she does at the range once you get sighted and broke in. A really good site for Savage info. is savageshooters.com. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

That's a bad ass savage you have there... I'm sure that heavy free-floating button-rifled barrel will give outstanding results in the field. Let me know how it does, I just may get one.

Nice stick!!! I'm very interested in getting a Savage rifle one day. Maybe in my beloved .300 Win mag caliber!!

Any range reports to post?? Do you or are you going to hand load?? If not, what factory ammo are you going to run??

168gr SMKs (BTHP) like the FGMM should work excellently and try switching to the 175gr once you get past 600yrds.

Hey guys,

Sorry i have been away for a while. Holidays can be a pain when you want to go shooting.

Ok , where to start....

I will most definitely be reloading for this rifle. For me I feel that's the only way to get the most accuracy and potential out of your rifle.

To find the perfect bullet, charge and dimensions for your specific rifle.

As it stands I have some factory ammo to test with to see what happens.

A box of Federal match gold medal w/ a68gr sierra match king BTHP's and a box of winchester supreme competition with 168gr nosler HPBT match bullets.

I have been reloading the nosler custom competition 168 gr HPBT for my FAL Sniper set up I built and had really great results from them.

So I am probably going to stick with them unless the federals with the sierra's really blow them away.

I doubt I'll get past 600yds around here in NC, Shelby in particular, Heck I'm happy if I can find a place to shoot at over 100yds.

I'll be at the gunshow next weekend (the 11th) in Charlotte so no shooting this weekend but a fun way to spend the day, my brother (who is a FFL) usually go and set up a few tables at the December show.

Don't know if any of you guys are from NC but if you are keep an eye out for a guy wearing a grey golf shirt with sportsmans dream on it.

My names Scott, if you see me stop by and talk for a bit.

If I can ever get to the range I promise I will get some pics and info posted up.

Got a new Beowulf to sight in a nd a few other goodies that are screaming to be let out of the safe.

Ok,

I finally made it to the range to shoot Friday afternoon.

What can I say? I'm amazed, impressed and unbeleivably happy with this set up.

I've never had anything before that shot this good of groups.Especially with me doing the trigger work.

The Super Sniper is kick *ss. Crystal clear to me.

This was at 100yds using Federal Match Gold Medal 168gr Sierra matchking BTHP fatory loads.

Makes me wonder what my hand loads will do.

But any way I am very pleased with this.

Note: the two spread put groups were from my buddies 15yrd old son. I guess he was wiggling around anticipating the recoil.

Every rifle is different but that is the exact rilfe I have, stock and everything.  I got the OD stock though and it's got a nice paint job on it.  The only difference is that I used different mounts and rings and have a SS10x42 on it.  Mine is left handed as well.  I shoot 175 gr. HPBT Sierra Matchkings.  I've never used a chrony on it but it's easily a 1000 yard gun.

Cheaptrick check out the this.  It's the same rifle in long action .300 winmag.
