I am about to pull the trigger on one of these immediately but which one is still up in the air. I am unable to look at any of them in person so any help would be appreciated. I am looking at inputs in regard to glass quality only. I have already gone through and compared features. The purpose is mostly for target shooting and occasionally hunting but for the most part it will be plenty bright during shooting times.
Since this is mostly for target shooting from prone, the ones I'm looking at in particular are: Conquest 6.5-20x50 mil dot SIII 6-24X50 moa/moa Elite 4200 6-24X50 mil/mil Also I currently have a 16X super sniper, is the glass on these three noticably better than what I currently have? Thanks for the help. |

i can only comment on the zeiss and 4200 i have looked through both. i was blown away by the glass in the bushy 4200. really clear and crisp, i cant say anything bad about the elite 4200. the zeiss conquest which wasnt mine,i sighted in for a friend it was a 4.5-14x44 rapidz reticle,it was flat out awesome,i really want one. i think the glass is better than the 4200,of course its more expensive. i was really impressed with the zeiss hands down between the 2 id go with the zeiss.

I am happy with my 4200 3-12x44 target beside very large knobs and some what hard to read marking. Optical wise they are worth the money. While not as great as zeiss, but they top off other Japanese lens for the price.

I've got this one my Remington 700 VSF .223. Great glass and a great price. The only downside i've got with it is that past 16X the view through it starts getting milky (i'm not the only one who's noticed this...see review of it on SWFA.com). Nothing major but it's noticable. Oh, and it's staying where it currently is btw...

All three are good scopes. At high magnification (above 14x or so) Sightron and Conquest will bit a bit better than the Elite 4200.
Aside from that, if you plan to use the knobs a lot, Sightron has a lot more elevation adjustment available. On the other hand, when at the same magnification, Conquest offer wider field of view than the Sightorn. As far as your Super Sniper goes, while it is a nice scope, these three are a bit better. ILya

I HAVE A ZEISS CONQUEST AND AM WELL PLEASED FOR IT'S PRICE POINT.YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A SCOPE WITH MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACK.ALSO YOUR RESALE VALUE WOULD BE GREATER WITH THE CONQUEST. |
