I am going to recommend the SS 10x. http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-10x42-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P499.aspx
While it does not have matching reticle and adjustments, you are going to have a hard time finding a good scope like you want for under $450. Don't bother with the Falcons, they are junk. I have played with 3 or 4 of them now and I would not have one. I would take the SS any day over a Falcon. |

I concur with ST on the Super Sniper, but I've never seen a Falcon, so I can't say.
That said, Super Tool is a very educated member here, so I would take his word to the bank. Welcome to Optics Talk.

jd,
What caliber and type of gun are you using? Will it strictly be a bench gun or will you hunt with it at shorter distances as well? Are you set on a fixed or variable scope? Answer these questions and maybe some of the guys on here can help you a bit better.

its going on a stevens 260 im building, ive also considered the vortex hs 4-16x44.the viper 6.5-20 isnt a choice as i hate the eye relief.i been wanting to try some longer range shooting as im just to beatup to hunt much anymore.

If the ranges are 700 to 1000 I would suggest the SS16x,
If the ranges are 100 to 700, I would agree on the SS 10x. |

From what i have noticed in handeling it, the falcon is just to heavy and bulky for me and i have had some guys call in with issues on the side focus. In fact, i have heard about many side-focus issues. The adjustment turrets and the turret area is MASSIVE and extremely cumbersome. Not a bad scope if you want a "tacticool" looking system. If you want functionality stay with the SS.

If you could stretch 50 bucks you could get a 3-9 SS on samplelist. Then you get the Mil Mil.
