What kind of abuse/tests, does a tactical scope have to endure to be qualified to use in military applications. I was thinking about this when I bought the SS. I can think of a few things off the top of my head, but it would be cool to know a little more about the subject.

It varies by agency sometimes the only factor is the lowest bidder other times inteligence is involved followed by extensive testing which differs by agency and branch of service.

I see, I was just wondering what different kinds of tests they do ie. water submersion, dragging through mud, drop tests and so on. Take for example the SS. What kind of tests were done, for it to be awarded a military contract.
Thanks alot
