I've read about half a dozen posts on affordable scopes for a 17 hmr (affordable to me is $100-$150)  I only paid $300 for my 917VS and I would like the best scope I can get in my price range.  There seems to only be two schools of thought out there BSA vs. Bushnell.

If you had my gun and my budget what would you buy???

You guys are the experts and I don't mind taking advice and/or criticism until I've gathered enough info to make an intelligent decision.  Right now I need to buy a scope for my new gun so I can go out and play.  So how about it, what would you get?

Randy

whats your distance? much beyond 150 yards and you'll want and aO. if ur closer i'd go with a bushnell banner 3-9-40. great scope for money. if your wanting an AO i'd spring for a simmons Atec. good value. ( the banner is an extremly long scope, looks great i think) you may want to ask other people. this is just my limited capibility to name nice scopes. Stay away from BSA

The Simmons WhiteTail Classic 6.5-20x50 is a good scope for the money but the BSA Sweet 17s are a lot of fun with the ballistic calibrated dial.

Do a search for Simmons WTC18 on rimfirecentral.com and you will see how good and how popular they are on rimfires.
