I have $600-650 to spend on a scope, I want it for hunting on a 7mm RM. These are features I want, a mildot reticle like the elite 6500, easy features and turrets to figure out, doesnt matter between target and hunting turrets, dont really know the difference, something that isn't cheaply made, clear, and at least a 2.5-12 or higher mag with a 50 objective.   What do you guys recommend?

I'd prefer 3. or even 3.5, but I'll probably get alot of 6500 replies, and its a 2.5 My prefered set up would be a 3-3.5-14-16, but I'll go to a 2.5.

You're the man. I found that 6500 about 200 cheaper, but it only comes with a 3" SS? I could swear that its a minimum 4" up to 5". Anyways, keep up the good work! I'd be willing to go to 750-850 if necessary. I've already gotten the approval for the conquest 4.5-14X50 from my wife, at 850, but the less I spend the more I shoot. Staying smart!

That Leupold seems to be a helluva deall. I talked to the wife, and she said I can get whatever I want, just make sure that I get what would be best for me. So I think the limit will be $900 for the scope, and $1100 for the rifle. Let's try to keep it matte, and no more than 16 power, I really wouldn't know what to do with all that. Not that I'd really know what to do with anything right now, until I get hands on time, know what I'm saying?

But I will say that Chris should put you on most helpful for his annual O.T forum most helpful.

Thanks for the compliment but there are many more that are much more knowledgeable than I and have loads of more experience.  I try to help as if I were asking.  the good thing you have going it time.  when the new optics start being release for the year, the sample list should accumlate more as well as some discounts on products going out of stock.  Just keep your eyes open and credit card ready for a deal you can' pass up.  Stay safe over there.

I plan on having my wife order it shortly before returning home, along with my rifle. Her dad will most likely be the inspector of the weapon and scope, since he knows what to look for.
