I wound up with an older german scope with typical claw mounts. It's marked on the left Side on tube below drum :

  Hensoldt Wetzlar
Ziel Dialyt 5 x

The drum is numbered 1 through 6 on top and  "Mauser" stamped on with the numbers. On the base of the drum is tiny numbers 13979.    It has chocolate brown leather scope caps marked on the outside on each one 38,5 .    I'm thinking this is from the 1930's ?. The objective front part of the tube has a double claw mount. The rear double claw is on the tube directly behind the drum. The rear claw has a finely crafted spring loaded set of 'hooks' that lock the claws in . Reaching under scope and pushing to the rear unlatches from base. Any help appreciate don this...and any leads on anyone that can refurbish same.

Gary ;  thanks for the reply. I haven't been on that site since 2015 or so. I got real tired of all the closet Nazis there. Some real winners in that regards.

Well then, try these:

Often I register on forums because I have one specific question, I get my answer and vanish like a pay-check. I now I´m a bit anti-social Cool but my guns, scopes, tractors and chainsaws are in working order.......

Never got a reply from any of the links. But I did touch base with a buddy larry eisel in upstate NY and he has an optics guy that generally charges $300 for work on such European scopes. So when he comes down for the SOS show in loserville next month I'll have him take it back with him and get it fixed.
