Looking for recommendations on which model holosun micro dot to go with. They have several models and I’m trying to narrow down which features I would prefer for it. It will likely be used on an AK with ultimak rail or a 10.5” ar pistol. Farthest shots wth it wouldn’t exceed 200 yards. Really more like 150 and mostly inside 100 yds. Might be used for a truck gun, range toy and hog hunting in the brush in conjunction with night vision. Thanks in advance.

I noticed SWFA does not sell Holosun. I have an interest in these little gems as well.
The Military model looks very appealing. Their features are impressive. Anyone with experience with these please speak up. I also recently acquired a 3x Primary Arms optic. Surprisingly, it turns out to be pretty awesome. Why does SWFa not carry this stuff? |

They have holosun on their website. I just checked. They also sell several of the brands that are holosun rebrands. Sigs, truglos, and leatherwood. So there ate lots of options.

Primary arms has their own house brand just like swfa has their own house brand. I assume primary just sells their house brand themselves

Apparently the holosun performs slightly better from the reviews I’ve watched and seen even though they’re made in the same factory. Primary arms also has their patented ACSS reticle on some of the holosun models so both brands are in the name/model of the optic.
I’ve narrowed it down to the holosun brand but having trouble deciding which features to go with... acss reticle vs circle dot, solar vs motion activation, and a couple others. Each different model has certain little details and features that are different and I’m looking for help narrowing that down and figuring out those differences to help me make the right purchase. |

The Military version has both, solar and shake awake. I have alot to learn about their stuff. From what I've seen, it is not the cheap imported crap I initially passed them off to be.
Pisces me off when others assume the SS line is a cheap import. So it is only fair for me to give other manufacturers the same oppo. |

I am very excited about these new optics and their features.
Weapons are only as capable as their human interfaces allow them to be. The ACSS reticle really made the AK come alive to me. I am even thinking of adding the 5.56/7.62 equivalent to my inventory. We get caught up in the weapons. But with these new QD and repeatable mounts, weapons can be reconfigured at a moments notice for specific missions. This has made the concept of a vast inventory of optics a viable reality. What say ye? |

Couldn’t agree more, especially with the evolution of these new low powered variable optics having very close to a true 1x magnification on the low end. Being able to go from aallmmostt 1x power to 6 or even 8x in a second without having to remount or reservoir anything is awesome and does a lot for a weapon system IMO.
