When you say target coyotes I am thinking less than 200 yds and when you say long range shooting I am thinking 300 + so I am thinking you will want a fairly powerful variable for the "long range " portion. I like an illuminated reticle for a coyote gun but most of mine are under 200 yds so Im using these and I have them in LaRue quick detach mounts, day optic 3-9 night optic 1-4:
