Hi guys
I have a verrrry intereting optical crystal vase or bowl....Before i thought that it can be very old like ancient civilization (Inca or Olmec) bowl....but now i already do not think that.....
so, in short, it has all concave surfaces (including the circle surface on the bottom with tiny pole object in the center).
It's verrry well made, well polished, very heavy (maybe crystal).

What do u think ?

Why artist made it sooo optical and why it has a pole just very accurate in center of the circle...Why ???
This artist was definitely good in optics....
never saw something like this bowl....:astronaut:
Do u know "sun mirror bunny" (kids like to do that) ??? maybe in english it's named differently...
and ....if you will get a big concave mirrored surface to make this "sun mirror bunny" and put it on wooden house....u can burn the house !
it sounds like weapon to me... : (
Do u remember one of the oldest symbol of ancient world ???
it looks like concave surface with object like a star (or ball) suspended in center...
guys, it's verrry interesting....
like happy face only with one eye in center
( .
i can not put dot in center....
like crescent symbol with a star....it came from ancient Egypt or Ethiopia.
Star is always represent like source of "fire"......and the word focus in optics means "fireplace"
Never play with "sun bunny" if u have wooden house
)))))

I have no idea what is happening here, but it is not an optical device associated with any firearm of which I am familiar.

Based on the link provided, I thought you had your answer, though I didn't venture too far afield.

If you figure out what it is, perhaps it should go to another location, but should be good here for now.

Hi guys,
Yeah, i think this is a right  place for my Topic...because i am still not sure what kind of bowl this...
It's difinitely not for just a decoration because it's very optic.
And it's not a firearm of course Big Smile....but it can be some kind of optical weapon or device or just a part of it......
Is somebody has an idea ?

Kickboxer, the problem is that i can not tell for sure what is that: just a vase or optical weapon or device.....
That's why i opened this OT topic... i need a help from you guys to understand if there is optics in my vase ???
It's very well made and ALL faces and surfaces are concave (not convex ) like scope...
Also it has some images of ancient Olmec (or Inca) pyramid and crosses chakana....that's why i thought that it can be verry old too....
I still do not exclude the possibility that it can be very old like Olmec civilization...

It is a glass vessel that scatters light, i'm.not sure where else to take this.

It is no manner of optic sighting device. It is "optical" in nature in that light goes in, light comes out. Otherwise, it is a decent place to put a candle.

Hope that helps.
