Ok, have a Tikka Tac coming in 260 for my Christmas present to self...I haven't been buying much lately optically since I picked up a couple LRPs maybe a year back. I just shoot paper, plink, and maybe a P dog trip or two. Was going to go upward a bit, not that I didn't like LRP but because I wanted to see with sales/clearance could I get better for not a lot more...
Anyways, looking for thoughts and experience on these that I have found. Warning..I am a value guy, not married to any brand, not a Vortex fan after personal experience with 2 of their products so they are out. Burris XTR II 5-25x50 with SCR illuminated - Actually have one of these, but they are stoopid cheap right now at about 550 bucks. Its giant, its heavy, its ok glass...for that price though it has a lot of other nice features and I know what I would be getting. Bushnell Elite Tactical XRS II 4.5-30 Illuminated with G3 - Haven't had a Bushnell since my elite 4200 that rides my Tikka Super Varmint. Have heard lots of good things, can be had about 1150 right now on clearance. Leupold Mark5HD 5-25x56 or maybe the 3.5-18x44....I just really wonder how much better this would be optically than the LRPs I have or the other two mentioned above. Id have to spend at least 250 more for the smaller one from what I have seen....never looked through one. I would probably just get the TMR in this one. Appreciate your thoughts and input in advance! Given the price points...is the juice worth the squeeze? |

A scope that I've been pleased with is the Brownells Match Precision Optics in 3-18x50. I have a couple of these and they also have a 5-25x version. Here is Ilya's review. Better than I can say it

A redfield revolution? Not in the same category to the type of scope he is asking about.

Wes just must be trolling me....
Interested read and link on the Brownells, thank you for that. Wasn't aware they even had them. I ended up signing up for the Leupold VIP program which I didn't previously know existed and picked up a Mark 5HD 5-25 with the CCH reticle to match my LRP. I said what the hell...most I've ever spent on a scope because im so damn thrifty..

Mark 5 is a nice scope. I was pretty impressed with the two I tested.
