Rather nicely. What is your intended usage?

I have 3 of the Kahles 2-7x36 CLs, 1 Kahles 2-7x36 AH Rimfire, and the Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40, among other flavors of both Kahles and Conquest scopes. I like the Kahles scopes a bit better than the Conquests, but Conquest is no slouch.

The AH series is very slightly behind the CL series, and I would say the AH scopes are roughly equivalent to the Conquests. I personally love all the Kahles 2-7's of all iterations. They are very light and compact and optically excellent!

Ted, is there really a noticeable difference between the AH and CL Kahles scopes ?

The CL is a definite step up from the AH. The CL has a more forgiving eye box. To me the CL may be a little brighter in low light.

Roy, it's not a huge difference, but to my eyes, I think the CL has a bit better resolution, a larger "sweet spot," and as Lile said, is a bit easier to get behind. Both are awesome little scopes! It seems Lile and I have had something of a mini war to buy up all the ones we've seen popping up on the Sample List in recent years. Ha!

I have the 2-7 in both the AH and CL. I actually prefer the AH as it seems easier to get behind to me and has less tunnel vision. I don't think the CL really has tunnel vision to the extent to call it such but it does definitely have more than the AH. I found both superior to my 3X9 Conquest and easier to get behind though I had no problems with the Conquest.

My intended usage is just all around hunting on my go to rifle.  I currently have the AH on my TC Icon in .308.  Killed my first ever deer at 225 yards and i wouldn've liked to have had just a touch more magnification than the 7 power.

I'm thinking about picking up a conquest since they're priced so well right now and putting the 2-7 on my marlin lever action. I wouldn't be using that one for shots over 150 yards.

thanks for all your feedback,

Josh

I recently picked up a Kahles CL 3-10X50 off the sample list. I had just missed a 3X9X42 AH. I have another 3-10X50 CL and it is the best low light scope I have ever used. There out there but you have to be ready and quick.

Would this be considered a good scope for my marlin 336? seems like it might be ideal...

Excellent scope for a 336, or much of anything where quick acquisition is needed.

It's an excellent scope for any hunting rifle where you don't need very high magnification and/or a light compact scope is desirable.

Yes, it would make a great scope for a .336.
