How good a scope is this older Kahles model?  I have a chance to snag one, but know next-to-nothing about Kahles scopes.  Main use would be on a .270 Win. hunting rifle for general hunting over varied terrain, including some wooded and some open terrain.  Shots would be under 400 yards.

Would this scope equal or exceed a Swarovski or Zeiss model of approximately the same magnification?

Sometime back I was comparing Kahles to Swarovski and Zeiss...

Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.

Good compact scope. Kahles are the same group as Swarovski and I would rate their products very highly.

In fact if I could find that scope or a Kahles 1-5x24 that would probably be my choice for my 404 Jeff.
Was sure I had a point when I started this post...

I have several Kahles scopes, L, C and CSX in 1.1-4x24 (2 of them, one illuminated), 1.5-6x42 and 2.2-9x42. The contrast and resolution is excellent. They lean towards contrast that I appreciate because game around here is always in front of, or in, cover.
The 2-7x36 is a winner.
