Looking to put one of these(or a VX11 2-7x33) on a 7mm-08 mountain rifle. My questions are on the UL 3-9x33:
'big eye-box' & how about 'parallax'?

In the past I have used 2-7x33's, great scope. But these UL's do come in a bit lighter. Just wondering if they are a good thing, like the 2-7's?

Cheers & thanks in advance

I understand where you are going with size and weight but sometimes a little more scope means a significant quality change. Here are the two scopes I would want if it was my rifle.
Leupold 6x42 FX-3 Riflescope Long Range Duplex Leupold 6x42 FX-3 Riflescope
Stock # - LEU66820
  • Matte
  • Long Range Duplex
  • 1"
  • Xtended Twilight Lens System
$429.95
Bushnell 3-9x40 Elite 4200 Rifle Scope Multi-X Bushnell 3-9x40 Elite 4200 Rifle Scope
Stock # - 423944M
  • Matte
  • Multi-X
  • 1"
  • Rainguard
  • Free Fleece Pullover (Mail-In Coupon)
$254.95
The difference in glass of the two I listed just smokes the two  you are considering. If you have to select one of those two I would go with the 2-7 but if size and weight were the main consideration I would be going with a Trijicon Accupoint in the 1-4
Trijicon 1-4x24 Accu-Point 30mm Rifle Scope German #4 Crosshair w/ Green Dot Trijicon 1-4x24 Accu-Point 30mm Rifle Scope
Stock # - TR243G

  • German #4 Crosshair w/ Green Dot
  • 30mm
$779.95

All of these are better glass.

I bought that very scope to put on my A-Bolt SS Stalker but I did get it off of here at a reduced price.  It is still in the box so I can't evaluate anything for you.  I hope it is not a disappointment.  For the record most of my other rifles have 6x42 Monarchs on them and the Zeiss 3x9 Conquest is leaving the A-Bolt to go on my 6.5 Grendel AR.  Then I am buying a Mil Dot for my 308 (probably either the SS 3x9 or 10HD or maybe a Vortex PST by then).

I am so scope logged right now that I am thinking about putting either an Aetec or one of the 6x42 Monarchs on my 22.

My SS rings showed up today from SWFA to put the Leupold on the A-Bolt so maybe I can give you more feedback soon.

I put the Ultralight on my wife's compact Ruger 7mm-08. It's been fine relative to parallax and eye positioning. The FOV could be better (I suppose) and the ER is quite variable. That said, it's performed fine for her usage. However, if I had it to do over, I believe I'd look at a Vortex Viper 2-7 X 32 very hard.

Ran into problem 1 today.  Not enough length for my A-Bolt LA with a two piece mount.  Only hope now is that the one piece is about 1/4" closer or I'll be putting this thing on a 22 or selling it.  I guess I will call SWFA to see if I can find out measurement.

On further review and researching the Leupold's website...It fits and looks great.  Maybe this weekend I can see how I shoot with it.  I guess I had the rings too snug and didn't notice that they could move some more.
