Found one with target turrets in good condition for 250 bucks, is it worthwhile for a 22-250?

I dont' see a new on on SWFA in that configuration so I dont' know what they cost new.  BUT there are worse things to spend $250 on thats for sure.

are you just going to use it for target shooting, or are you looking to take it after p-dogs and coyotes etc.????

if you wanna use it for coyotes, i would strongly suggest you hunt with at least one other person, if not i would suggest you carry a shot gun with you as well, a pissed off coyote at 15ft on 6.5x isnt a good thing.

Price, not sure on, but for a .22-250 it is a good magnification range for paper or prairie dogs.

Thanks for the replies. I picked it up, may never use it, but I'll give it a try. I have a brother in law and his kids all use these or the vxlll version for elk. Not my cup of tea for big game, but maybe for goof'n off with the 22-250. I haven't killed a coyote in years, since I shot one while my lab was with me! He jumped out of the pickup and ran up to the yote and gave me a real bad look! Right now I have a 3-9x40 FFII on it which does a decent job for a little of everything!

I took posession of the scope today and found it to be a 6-18x40 VXll with target turrets, not a scratch on it, no smudges on either lens (like brand new). I'm optomistic that it will be great on my 22-250 as long as it tracks! If it won't track the target turrets would be stupid. Anyone had experience with this one? Lists on SWFA for 549.95, so at 250 I felt i had to pick it up!

I have a VXII silver.  No target turrets.  Has Fine duplex on it.  Great for paper or pdogs.  Tracking is right on, glass is good for shooting during the day.  Have not used it much at evening, but has never limited my time in the field.  Have had it for 7-8 years and no problems.  Rides on my .22-250.
