Hello, I want to gather some opinions/experience to choose a sight for my 14.5" .223 AR. Right now I'm torn between 2 options: 1) proven Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x20mm http://www.leupold.com/tactical/scopes/vx-r-patrol/ 2) new Burris XT-R II 1x-5x-24mm (with Ballistic CQ Mil reticle) http://www.burrisoptics.com/xtr1x5x.html I think most of my shooting will be up to 100m, but I want to be able to hit 300m targets also. What mount do you think will work best for 1-4(5)x scope: Warne SKEL or DND Freedom Reaper Forward Picatinny? Any other suggestions? Do I need that much forward shift for 1-4x/1-5x sight? http://warnescopemounts.com/product/skel-mount/ http://www.dnzproducts.com/product/freedom-reaper/ Thanks!

Nod goes to the Burris...
The new XTR II 1-5 is an impressive scope Yes. You need that type of mount. |
