I have been looking at the specs on the VX3 and MRT lines of Leupold, specifically the 2.5 X 8 and the 1.5 X 5, do you guys think these are the same optics rebadged with different turrets? They seem identical. Thanks?

Yes, these are the same scopes with different knobs and cosmetics.

I tend to believe that the tube is also thicker on the Leupold tactical scopes. I have noted that similar models between the VX3 line and Tactical line often show that the Tactical line adjusts less total MOA than the VX3. Not sure if it is true across the board but I suspect there is a difference in the thickness of the tube with tactical being a thicker tube so less room for adjustment. Probably would be a good question to ask Leupold.
VX3 6.5-20x50 has 90 moa where MK4 6.5-20x50 has 70 moa so likely more than just cosmetic and it would make sense to make the tube thicker - stronger to defend against impact and abuse.

If you want to know the cost of turrets alone go to Leupold Custom web site and price them. You can also custom order the VX3 with M1 etc turrets.
