Who uses them?
I do, for a while, I was using Burt's Illuminoc, but when Rage introduced the Nocturnal, I changed over. You can actually turn these off. The main reasin I started using them, was I wanted to watch my flight path for deviation. And there is a huge difference how a carbon arrow flies versus aluminum.

I'm a dinosaur... never even tried them. I've shot deer with archery equipment since 1966 and never saw the need.

I don't. I just put the arrow exactly where it's supposed to go so I don't have to track anything very far. As a result, I typically know my exact flight path even before the arrow leaves the bow.

I gues I'm caught up in the hype.
I'm looking at it from the perspective while shooting I will follow the boatail or vapor trail in the scope for LR shooting, with a compound bow and trying to re noc an arrow if there is deviation, this is a little more time consuming, but if I could see where the flight path changed, I know that something went a rye and I need to make some changes.

Several guys I hunt with use em. I like how easy it is to find the arrow after a shot. Makes findin the deer alittle faster when you can walk right to the arrow. I have luminocs but haven't used them yet. When I build my arrows I use a white Florissant wrap that lights up when you shine a light on it. Works darn good and the batteries never die. Good to have one or the other when custom arrows can run 15 to 20.00+ each.

I use them and like them. Easier to see where arrow is going. My arrows are black so when it gets ducky they are hard to see

Someone should make a noc with a gps reciever in it that comes off the arrow as it goes through the animal so it stays in it. That way you could usually gps track your animal.

I use them and like the fact that I can always find my arrows. I've only ever had one arrow that didn't completely pass through an animal, and that was before I started shooting Deep Six FMJs at 500+ grains. Most shots at dusk make it hard to find the arrow on the track, as Sarge said. I use the nocturnals, too - like that you can turn them off, which helps for fine tuning sight adjustments with the lighted nocks being slightly heavier and changing the arrow balance a bit.

Probably would have helped me last year. I stuck two pigs out at Decker's and didn't recover either of them.
I wanted pics for you guys here of the excursion, but sadly it didn't happen. The main reason I shot one, was because he scared off three bucks who were cautiously coming to the feeder that just went off. On a positive note, I bought two coyote families dinner two days in a row. |

I think Jason had a great idea. All poking aside, I'd like to see who comes out with one first. Although I bet they would be very expensive.
