Looking for a scope for my Savage 12 LRP 6.5. Price around $1000 give or take a 100 . I'll be shooting out to 1000-1200.

Burris XTR II 5-25x50
Vortex PST 6-24x50
Sightron S3 6-24x50FFP
SWFA 5-20x50 (non-ill)

Those are your options.  All are good scopes.

I have not tested the Burris yet, so the recommendation is provisional on my part.  With the other three, I somewhat prefer the SWFA SS, but for the most part, pick the reticle you like.

I have run the Sightron and SS, both are great scopes. I prefer the turrets on the SS.

No experience with the Vortex or Burris. If you go 2.5x, the Vortex Gen2 is quite a nice scope.

The rifle is a 6.5x47? Have you taken 800+ yard shots?

6.5 creedmoor and it's brand new. I shot the same gun in .243 at 700. It had a nightforce on it. I been hearing great things about SS for the price. Only negative complain was it didn't have zero stop.

10 mils per turn, at my elevation gets me to 1500 in the summer time with my 6.5 Creed.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
