Hello,

I use to own a Vortex StrikeEagle 1-8x24 on some 5.56mm platform, which I use for recreational shooting, like private 3-gunning and hunting.
Time spending with it uncovered that I will not be satisfied with the Eyebox in the long run, as I do not expect my manipulation with the scope will change drasticly, because I often see shadows in scenarios where I shoot and move - and I feel like there is this millisecond of delay adjusting the eyebox when I shoulder the weapon, compared to other (LPVO/HPVO) optics I already shoot.

My researched ended up with either the the Atibal X1-10x30 for the first, because some posts claimed a really good Eyebox with this particular one,
and it was fitting my price Tag of <1000USD.

Some other "hope" that raised by the specs is, that the 35mm lens/30mm diameter makes it gather more light.

To not loose ourselfs in all the other specs, like the weird 35mm tube, the weird reticles, or small differences like turrent vs capped, or if its dressed with either a Dual Reticle, Illumination on SFP, Off between Brigthness Settings or some other great feature, I want to focus the basic Questions:

1.) I am not into the Cqjizhou/Tri-Star, Norden Performance, or other OEMs Knowledge base yet.
But I would be interest into determing what are the quality products each?

Like: If Vortex, Atibal, GSRC, PrimaryArms and some other share the same OEM, this OEM for sure does offer different categories of qualitys.
Is there some way to make out the best product quality of each OEM without watching actual footage or reviews,
just by the specs of the OEM and the different brands?
Obviously I am looking into lens quality, like the glass and coatings, and general optical performance like depth of field, eye relief etc.?

2.) Are there any other 1-10x, except the IOR which only is 1-10x24mm, you are aware off worth mentioning? Please not refer for the GSRC FSO 1-10x30 which is the same as the Atibal X and Xs.

34.) I can not afford "military-grade entry products" like a Trijicon AccuPower 1-8x24 for 1500USD, and for sure no NF, Khales, Swarovski, Steiner or S&B CC 0.75-8x24 for 2500USD+
but if we would be thinking more of rughness/build quality/G-Force Rating and long-term usage,
what is there worth mentioning in your opinion for the 1-8x optics?
Maybe some underdog in our <1000USD category?

4.) What is the best Eyebox you are aware of in a 1-8x to 1-10x LVPO? Would you still go with the Atibal X or Xs, just because of the Eyebox (compared to the price)?
Are there better Eyeboxes for <1000USD?
Are there better image qualitys available with equal or better Eyeboxes for <1000USD?

5.) What Scope would you choose: <1000USD, min. 1-8x, low disortation, great eyebox, great deep of field, good eye relief?

Ciao

Around $1k, if you want FFP, your bet bet is Burris XTR II 1-8x24.

Atibal and GRSC are perfectly decent scopes (I own a GRSC and have tsted the Atibal), but in terms of getting behind the scope, neither is particularly forgiving.  They are OK and a little better than the Strike Eagle.

Generally, if you are looking for a 1-10x scope, there is really only one I am comfortable recommending: March 1-10x24.  IOR 1-10x look good on paper, but March is a better scope.

GRSC/Atibal are budget scopes with good feature set.

Now, if you are looking for the best 1x performance on a budget, your best bet is Steiner P4Xi 1-4x24.  It is very good on 1x.

I really do like the Steiner P4xi 1-4.  Yes, only 4X max power, but the glass is pretty darn good, the reticle just what is needed in an LPVO riding on an AR-15 in 5.56, and the reticle dot is pretty much daylight bright and very “red dot like” on 1X.

If they can make it a 1-8 and keep the same characteristics and similar price range, they would have a market leader, IMHO.
