I've almost always use standard luepold rings and bases on my rifles, but I have some concerns.  I'm going to mount a Kahles 3-12x52CL on a Weatherby 300.  I believe i'll need to use high rings, should I fear any problems using the high rings with this setup, or should I go with a Tally setup???  Thanks to all!!!!

I'd go with Talley, but Leupold rings are OK too.
I've used Leupolds on high recoil rifles and have no complaints.
If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

It just makes me nervous, I've never used a scope with such a large objective on a heavy recoiling rifle or any rifle come to think of it.  I think i'm going to take your advise and bite the $$ bullet and go Tally, unless some other posts steer me back to luepold.

The Leupold mounts should be no problem.
I have Talley's on several different rilfes up to .375 H&H and think that they are very strong. Besides being made from a high grade of tool steel they have dual recoil shoulders and a large clamping/base area.

I have Leupold Dual Dovetails  hi mounts on a Browning 300 Ultramag and no worries whatesover . It has a 4200 Elite 2x10x50. I also have 3 - 300 wby's and they all have Leupold Dual Dovetail mounts utilizing medium rings and no issues with those.

Leupold's Dual Dovetail system is going to be fairly bombproof compared to the windage-adjustable Standard system which employs a rotary dovetail stud only on the front ring. ( and even those are pretty tough!)
The Dual Dovetail system is not windage-adjustable however; the Standards are. Niether one is any good if you ever need to swap scopes around, you pretty much need to dismantle everything, although the Standards can be removed whole if you're careful not to bend or kink the scope tube when you twist it out of the front base.
I have to recommend cross-slot bases of the Weaver or Picatinny type, and compatable rings from Talley, Burris or Leupold. (PRW or QRW.)

just remove the tops of the mounts---simple. No need to dismantle everything , as long as the bell of the replacement scope clears the barrel.

Oh,  I know it's not akin to dismantling a V-8 engine , but I was referring to taking a scope that's mounted on a rifle in a set of Weaver-style rings and replacing it with another scope that's already mounted in a different set of  Weaver-style rings.  That is fast and easy!

I guess i'll try the luepold rings with the scope.  I already have the bases mounted on the rilfe, just need to purchase some new "high" rings.  If they hold up when sighting in and at the range i'll be ok.  If they fail, I can always go Talley.
