In my ever more depressing search for a lightweight scope without boring duplex reticle, I am considering getting a Mark Ar Mod 1 3-9 with Firedot TMR retice or a Redfield Revolution Tac....lo, behold the depths i have fallen...

Looking at these two, aesthetically they look exactly/freakishly the same. Down to the same marketing style turret knobs. The mark ar has a slightly better reticle and illum. And i think both have the same VX-1 glass, but the redfield is half the price!

Is there any mechanical or optical difference between them? Which scope is the better value?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i really like what you guys have to say Big Smile

Having zero experience with either one, I'd still say the Leupold for the Firedot reticle alone.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.
