How does the Meopta Meostar 3-10 X 50 compare to the Swaro Z3 3-10 X 42? Looking for a scope that works in the timber early morning/late evening. I have been thinking about putting one on a Rem 700 (270).

I have had experience with both the Meopta and the Swarovski.Optically there is not a nickels bit of difference to me. A major difference is the fact that Meopta offers a killer # 4 reticle that is super bold and heavy that is very visible in low light. So Meopta gets the nod for me. I am very amazed at a lot of folks whoseem to forget that low light shooting means having a rreticle that's very visible. Either have it lit or very bold.Thin reticle and low light just don't cut it.

I have both scopes considered and for my deer rig I chose the z3. I wanted to keep weight down and that was one of the factors.
