This isn't comparing apples to apples, but I have to ask.  I have read great reviews on the Meostars, and am ready to buy a pair of 8x42, but I am experiencing a bit of a Freudian slip here, maybe the SLC's would help compensate for my small nose? or maybe I would get a better wow factor from the women (maybe I should get the 15x56 LOL)

I guess my question here is; are the SLC's that much better? Are the Meostars that close? Please do share your thoughts. I'm a hunter and a "closet birder" Clap

I'm not getting any love on this topic. I was over on a Birding forum, and the reviews were equally good on the Meostars. I guess I'll save the money and go with the Meostars. Considering what I have been using for the last 6 years, these will be a major upgrade.

Well, tell us more about what specific models and sizes you are looking at ?

The SLC models are very good, even from 15 years ago.  Meopta is doing better with

its new HD models.

Meostars are excellent binos. I own a 8xhd and 10x42 non hd and my dad has a 12x non hd. I have lots and lots of hours behind them.

I have no time behind the slc so i cannot compare. But i have a lot of time behind a zeiss victory. They are better optically than the meopts. The biggest diff is in low light. I assume the slc will be similar. Whether or not that 5% better is worth twice the cost will be up to you. The meoptas will likely make u very happy as they are a great bino.

Thanks for the feed back. I'm sure that I will be very happy with the Meostars.  I was looking @ the SLC's because I've always wanted a pair of Swarovskis, the name recognition/reputation does give them a certain cool factor, kind of like a Rolex watch. I'm sure that common sense will prevail.
