Hello all I had read  post on this site and otherswhen I was in the market for a 50 bmg scope and was tryin to make up my mind between the burris black diamond and millett lrs-1. After reading some good and bad out of each scope I chose the millett, major mistake.I purchased the scope on 7/7/09  and in less than 2 months and no more than 40 rounds its back in for warranty at bushnell which now owns millett. First call to customer service I was told I would continue to have problems with this scope because it was mounted on a 50 bmg, after back and fourth bickering with the customer service rep I told him I would find documentation showing that this scope was 50 rated from millett.Where did i find this info , first page of the scopes instruction manual plainly stated 50 bmg rated. After calling back and asking to speak to a supervisor about the customer service deal he informed me to send it directly to him and he would expedite the repair of it since normal warranty takes 4 to 6 weeks. They recieved the scope on a Thursday and got it to warranty on the Wednsday of the next week , so much for expedite .So i call yesterday to find out about it and the supervisor is gone on vacation ,and no one knows anything other than its in repair dept.I am presently dealing with another supervisor and he has yet to return my calls with any info yet. To sum it up the scope if your lucky may turn out to be ok but if you have a warranty issue look out, their customer service totally sucks. I was told that since bushnell took over millett it has been this way. They ask if there was anything else they could help me with and i said "YEA RETURN MY MONEY AND I WILL BUY A BURRIS." By the way swfa has been helpful in tryin to help me in finding someone at bushnell that actaully seemed to care about the custumer and quality of the product so far i havent had any luck.

Sorry about your troubles.  Seems like Bushnell is really hit and miss.  My personal experiences with them have been good.  But then I read stuff like this and figure I was pretty lucky indeed.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

Since my earlier post I did hear back from a supervisor at bushnell and was told my scope will be checked out by a repair tech on Monday. I asked him if he was aware of the problems that are occuring with the lrs-1 and he told me he had only been with bushnell for a month and wasnt aware of anything, lol can it get any better. If some of you are wondering what happen to the scope the recticle would rotate inside the scope with the power zoom ring.If you were looking through the scope and turned the zoom knob the crosshairs would rotate to about 220 degrees from std location folowing how much you turned the knob. I am assuming a set screw or soemthing probably has come loose inside the scope because it still held its accuracy through this. Oh by the way they have never offered a replacement of this scope like many others have stated they have done for them. Looks like it will probably end up on e-bay or gunbroker, and I will look for another higher end brand.

You have to wonder what the founding fathers would think about the leaders of our country now. Demand Nancy Pulosi be given a mental evaluation.

If you can live with a fixed power get the Super Sniper 10x or 16x.  They will handle the .50 just fine.

We have not had good luck with the LRS1 and hoped that after Bushnell acquired them that QC would get better.

Post like yours and this one are pretty common.

It's a sad thing...all those features and nice spec sheet but they can not get it done having them made in China.  If you ever spent time looking at the optics section of ar15.com you will see how the man who developed horeshoe reticles was trying to have a scope made just like the DMS-1 but with his own reticle.....more than a few years and Millett kept bringing him back samples that could not meet his simple specifications.

He had tons of people lined up for the scope, a great design at an affordable price, but at the most he would get a few half-way decent samples in and sell those at a discount price.

You should look at the Vortex Viper 6.5-20X50 for some thing close in price but pretty much immaculate feedback, perfect warranty and amazing customer service.  It's also only 21 ounces compared to the LRS being a chunky beast 32.8 ounces.
