Was wondering if anyone had a pair of these? I was informed by a very reputable source that they have a patent w/schott/weltzar on a manufacturing technique that will only be used in the Weltzar Manufactured APO HG product for the MINOX APO HG line http://ictv.s3.amazonaws.com/57/media/misc/Mnx%20SportOptik_1009_17_inhalt.pdf
1st few pages...
Is this true and can anybody tell me how they stack up to the Ultravids? Wondering If by anychance any of you have a pair...If they are better I want to buy a pair but if they are even similar I will not...
I have not looked at BINOS in some time as I rarely do not have a rifle with a decent scope with me when I am outside in the wilderness...I have stuck with the one pair of Ultravids I have and never really looked for the last few years...
Again just wondering what the take is on this Schott/Weltzar venture of Intellectual Property Rights on this Uber Secret Manufacturing Technique and how they can claim it will not be surpassed...
Thank you in advance... The last topic all the info was very very helpful...Thank you Brady@SWFA you have one happy buyer on this side... I have no complaints at all from my end... I did end up picking up everything that was suggested to me and steered very clear of the Kahles(a first for me admittedly but when I found out they are not in the same league as their scopes I was pretty turned off)...
Best Regards to everybody...I am very interested in this topic... Edited by 338LAPUASLAP - May/22/2010 at 09:10 |

Because they are fairly new to the market it may be awhile before we hear from someone who owns one.
Have you read the info posted on the Minox website?
They also offer some downloads.

The new Minox APOs seemed like very nice binoculars at SHOT, but now that they became a lot more expensive, they are competing against some very formidable competition. I do not know how well they compete in terms of optical quality against the likes of Zeiss FL, but they seemed better than the earlier HG binos. APO HGs now have decent field of view (weakness of aspherical HGs that were made in Japan) and they are still very light.
Beyond that, I can't really say much without a side by side comparison. ILya

338 -
I looked around for some info on the patent you talked about in your post - and couldn't anything. How did you hear about it? I have been a fan of Minox and their products for a long time. Also, I'm a new member so hey everyone.
