Mixon's Wild Game Processing and Taxidermy in Atoka, OK.

So I was supposed to have a deer score at the end of January, beginning of February.
So I shot the biggest buck that was brought to them by over 30 inches.
So I was told I would pay $75 dollars for the meat processing.
So I read that they were giving a free mount for the biggest deer.
So I requested back strap steaks, tenderloin steaks, summer sausage and ground meat (chili).
A mount in my hands by April.

Here is what I got.

A score, finally about a week ago. 195, three weeks after being initially told it was getting done. and almost two months later than it was supposed to happen.
My deer was not granted the mount, because he said its unfair due to being non-typical. His buddy, who shot a 165 class, got the mount.
My father in law paid $140 when he went to pick the meat up, since I left to come back to Louisiana.
39 pounds of meat, just summer sausage and ground meat, from a 140 lb deer.
Father in law just dropped head off at another taxidermist today, and has a lot of confidence will do the job well.

Not to mention the lies Mixon told my father in law in reference to what I requested. Not to mention he would not take down my photos from his Facebook page after I requested in regards to the worst service I've ever been provided.

DO NOT USE THIS MAN FOR ANY SERVICES THAT HE PROVIDES.

Father in law is looking into small claims court with his lawyer to figure out if that's something we can pursue.

Another thing you can do it, call the IRS and tip them off on cash deals he has done or call the EPA and see if the toxic stuff is being taken care of properly. I hate and I mean hate people/companies who don't do what they say. I'm debating on a company I'm having a little questionable dealing with. I'm going to wait and see how it plays out before I make a judgment on my problem. I have friend who work at IRS audit and EPA investigation dept. they told me they would help me out on my deal and it would freeze everything this company and the owner has touched or is in his shop and all the $ for at least 2 years and if there is one spot of oil on the floor a 3x3x3 hole will need to be dug to see if it soaked into the dirt. it would be a major $ project for the company to pay for plus they would be shut down during.

I guess time will tell how it works out.

I wouldnt go ruining a guys life over a bad dealing, even if he might deserve it. Not only will you ruin him, but you are ruining his wife and kids. Going after someone for personal revenge will hurt far more than just the one person that wronged you. Deal with him in person to make it right first, then if that doesnt work, posting bad comments on his FB and over tne internet, or in a local newspaper will do plenty of damage. If he continues the practice, then something else can be done.

Think about the big picture before you go all out on him. Take steps in the right order, with increasingly appropriate actions.

I agree. I would avoid bringing the federal government in on it they already have far too much power over the average joe... would not wish that(EPA - IRS) on anyone.

Just found on the facebook page a flyer from them saying the largest deer would indeed be free, nothing excluding a non typical.   Get them to put in writing why your mount did not qualify and when they ask why just tell them you need it for legal purposes, it may envoke a reaction for them to honor it anyway. BTW it might be a good ideal before they pull that photo down to print out a copy of that picture. It is from sept. 30th 2011.

I see he's a member of the Oklahoma Taxidermy Association. I'd call them, and tip them off to what he's up to. It seems simple and insignificant, but they may pull him back in line, as he gives the whole association (all the taxidermists who are members) a bad rap.
