I finally finished my new deer hunting rig consisting of a Weatherby Vanguard Sub Moa in .270 WSM, and a 4.5-14x44 Zeiss Conquest with a Rapid-Z 800 reticle in Talley Lightweight mounts. I have heard many questions asked about the rapid-z reticles, so I thought I would try to answer some. To me it couldn't be easier. The heavy 200 yard main crosshair is thick enough to draw your eye to the center, and all other marks were visible long before legal shooting light here. (1/2 hour before and after sundown) I zeroed in at 200, then tried the 300 and 400 yard pins. Those pins shot a couple inches high, so I adjusted the mag. ring up a hair and now they are dead nuts. Ranging is easy with the 2moa lines at the top. If a deer with an 18" body takes up 3 lines his body appears to be 6" tall, so I divide 18 by 6 and come up with 300 yards. However if I have that much time I'll hit him with the lazer and be done. I still need to find a longer range to test the longer yardages, but for hunting I don't shoot further than about 450, so I didn't test them yet. I hope this small review answers some questions about the new Zeiss reticles. Here are some pictures of the new rig. And sorry for the huge post.

Nice hunting rig looks like an all around good choice.
