I can really only afford to spend $150-200 for a new scope. I know that is not much but I would like to get a couple ideas what to look for brand/models. I am putting it on a .243.
I have not been hunting very long so thanks for the help. J |

Thanks guys.
One more question: what would be the best mounts to use? I will be putting it on a Ruger M77 and I think I am going with the Burris. |

Correct me if I am wrong, but the mounts are built into the M77 and Ruger also furnishes the rings. I have a very old Ruger and this was the case and it was still the case a few years ago when I purchased one for my nephew. Let me know if things have changed.

That is correct ranburr. I just checked on the Ruger website. Ruger rings are included with all Model 77's at no charge. kyrupp7, did you buy the rifle used without the rings because a new 77 should have had the rings in the box. If it was used it will be cheaper to go through the guys here at SWFA at the following link. http://www.riflescopes.com/departments/328/mounts/burris/bur ris_ruger-style_ring_mounts.htm
This might save you some money, Ruger quotes their rings at $60, a set of Burris Ruger style rings will set you back about $33. Hope this helps,
