That is cool. And I hope not "gimmicky" cool.

I'd have to have hands on before I make a decision on it. I happen to think the standard P365 with or without a manual safety is pretty hard to beat.

That's an interesting development. I was wondering who will be the first to put Meprolight's Bullseye sight on a stock gun.
I've played with it a little at SHOT and thought it was an interesting idea that seemed really fast at close ranges. ILya

Because I am not the sharpest ball in the drawer: it is a rear ring and a front dot that must be aligned, correct? Given it is a shorter "radius", it is a far more demanding alignment, I would guess.
If the gun indexes well, it should happen pretty quickly and naturally. The windows look to be fiber optic. When something breaks or fails, I wonder what that looks like. |

One downside I see with what Sig has done is by making it near flush you loose the ability to rack the action using the rear sight for one handed drills. I nearly bought one when I bought new sights for my XD, but ended up with traditional sights.

Sorta. It is not quite the same thing as normal sighting radius, but you are generally correct. The nice thing for speed is that if you see the dot, you can pull the trigger and get center of mass hits out to reasonable ranges very fast with a very low profile sight. I really need to try it on a gun with proper holster presentation. ILya

I ordered one of these sights last night. I will post what I think after I have shot it a bit.

I was really skeptical of the Meprolight FT when I first saw the ads for it, but after watching a few video reviews, I'm really intrigued by it. It looks to me that despite its short size, alignment precision is comparable to a much longer sight radius. I'd be interested in trying one out to see how fast it is to acquire the "bullseye" sight picture and how it compares with conventional sights for shot precision.
As for the P365 SAS, I really like how they recessed the Mepro FT into the slide. Very slick! If I like the sight, I might give some thought to machining a pocket for it on my P365 to duplicate that setup. Will be looking forward to hearing your impressions of the Mepro FT, Jason!

Have you had a chance to play with it? Now that I live in a free-ish state and can buy all this stuff, I have renewed interest. I picked up Glock 48 already and like it a lot, but I an interested in this sight integration Sig is doing. ILya

i put it on last night. But did not get a chance to shoot it yet. I practiced my draw stoke with it a bit. Its definitely different. I am slower with it for sure. But with practice i think it will good
They dont actually slide into the sight grove tight. So no sight tool needed to put them on. You tighen them down with set screws and they suggest gluing it with locktite.

Interesting. I realized that I have a CZ75 compact that I sorta forgot about. I do not like the sights on that gun, so I might try the FT on that.

I ordered the FT Red sight fro my CZ75. I am going to have some work done on that CZ anyway, so I'll change the sights while I am at it.

i still have not got the chance to shoot with the new sight. But i have done a lot of dry practice. I am now comparable with them vs my regular sights.
However tonight i was dry practicing with them in very low light. My eye are so trained to focus on the front sight that in low light it makes the ring and the dot very blurry. At first i thought something might be wrong with the sight. But i figured out i was focusing my eye to the distance of the front sight, as soon as i refocused to the rear sight it became very clear. My muscle memory for years have been trained to focus on the front sight, so its going to be an issue for me.

I got to shoot one at a local gun store's range, standard magazine. Very nice. I really like the "built-in" sight system... makes one wonder why it is just now being used. Smooth, comfortable to hold, very accurate. It's on my list of "I need one..." I wouldn't give up one of my current handguns to get one, but it is most likely (I have no reason why it would not be) the next handgun purchase I make.
Not a lot of time spent with it... they probably did not think of everything, but I didn't see anything they missed. As a good friend of mine once said about beer... "I don't see how they can make anything so darned good, so darned cheap".

my only concern would be losing the “front site post” in high stress. If you index shoot, not really a problem, but otherwise...
Also, old eyes might pose challenges. And those who have spent their lives looking for the front site now have to look elsewhere. But yes, I am also intrigued.

I am about to send my CZ75 Compact to CGW for some mods and they will install this sight in it while they are at it.
I have a suspicion it will work quite well. ILya

Agree with all, but those issues are overcome by "perfect practice". ("Practice", per se, does not make perfect... "perfect practice" makes perfect... what my Isshin-Ryu master used to tell me)

the biggest problem i see is unless you move all your guns to this sight, muscle memory is going to be an issue. You can perfect practice and relearn for this new site, but once you switch back to another pistol could be in the same boat with not focusing on the front sight now.
I like the idea of the sight, but i am really struggling going back and forth. I dry practice several times a week. And this is an issue

At the moment I have iron sight only guns and RDS equipped ones. I have sorta figured out how to transition between the two, but at this stage, I am faster with the RDS. This Bullseye sight is something else entirely, so we will see how it pans out. I've got a couple of new Shield red dot sights heading my way, so overall, I am int he RDS camp, but we'll see how it goes. ILya

As Jeff said high stress is the worry. Even if you practice both ways, what happens if your eyes focus wrong to the sight you are using. If could cost you your life, or the life of a family member. I really do like the sights though and in good light I don't seem to have the focus issue, but in low light its bad for me. Since most defense situations happen in low light, I will likely never use one of these sights on a CCW gun. Just use them for range practice and carry when I am on my ATVs or hunting.
