The things I've heard are good things. I know there are more than a few in europe that use them on air guns, which are typically harder on scopes than alot of rifles. My understanding is that the glass used is higher end Japanese.

.................................................................Although I have never used one, according to the things that I have read,  the Nikko`s are very popular in Australia for night time kangaroo hunting......................IMO, the Howa rifles, along with their rifle/scope package combos, are certainly one of the best values out there, with outstanding accuracy from the box.   Excellent   I myself have a new .375 Ruger Howa M1500   50%20Cal coming in, (ETA August or Sept.)..............The Nikko scope however, is not my 1st choice for the .375 Ruger!

The Nikko Sterling Nighteaters are a nice budget priced scope with quite good optics
they are a little bulky for there power would be the only real complaint
there has been a lot of these scopes sold in Australia haven't head of many problems can only think of one which was some sort of glue on the outside of a lense
there must have been thousands sold in the last couple of years
