Hi to all once again..
After long research , i have now settled with Nikon action ex binoculars for my budget.(i prefer 7x35 for their weight).
Now the issue which concerns me is..

I am from India and here Nikon action Ex costs double than Nikon Action.
Neither i do wear-eye glasses nor waterproof is of notable importance to me.

But of course eye-relief is added advantage to me, coz Action EX's plenty of eye-relief is always a relaxation for long time birding.

Is there any notable optical quality difference in Nikon Action Ex and Nikon Action CF or are they same in optics?
I mean in brightness , center-filed sharpness and resolution..

In papers it seems there is no difference. Both are listed as Fully Coated..

So, is Nikon Action Ex is only a waterproof model of Nikon Action?
Since i cant try out these bins here, Pls help me to decide.

Thanks in advance.

1. Nikon uses Eco-Glass lenses and prisms in the Action Extreme and they advertise it as "high quality glass" (using multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds)  which is not used in the cheaper Action series.

In papers it seems there is no difference. Both are listed as Fully Coated.

2. Nikon advertises the Action & Action Extreme series as multi-coated.
Fully Coated would be a step down from multi-coated, and Fully Multi-Coated would be a step up from multi-coated.

So, is Nikon Action Ex is only a waterproof model of Nikon Action?

3. The Action Extreme is BOTH waterproof and fogproof and uses a better quality of glass along with better anti-reflective coatings, according to their catalogs, and also offers better eye-relief.

4. The Action series has fold-down rubber eyecups, whereas the Action Extreme series has adjustable hard eyecups.

5. For nighttime stargazing, the optical coatings on the cheaper Action series show ghosting on bright objects such as the moon, giving the impression that the cheaper Action series does have 'fewer' layers of optical coatings compared to the Action Extreme.
Thanks in advance.
