[QUOTE=tankrat]Last weekend I bought the Leatherwood Hi-Lux Camputer ART M-1000 at a awsome price.
I mounted it and today boresighted it.
I highly recommend it to anyone. And it shoots great at 100-200 yards with and without the A.R.T engaged. The target below shows me useing windage to walk it in at 200 yards, STARTING AT UPPER RIGHT 1400 POS and walking it in to last 6 rounds useing Ferderal American 55 grain in 13-18 mph wind.

Very good shooting there.  Welcome to the OT, btw.  What are the details on that rifle?  Nice looking rig.

Hello Randy,

Well, we never received that camo painted LER 2-7 scope.  And, due the "competitor" word replacing the name of the store you returned it to, I don't know who to call and ask for it.

Therefore, I need a little help, if you are willing.

First, when we initially conversed, you mentioned more than once that you received a refund from the store you purchased from, however, upon re-reading the 28 Sept. post, I noticed that you said they "reconsidered" because you painted the scope.  Does that mean that you did not get a refund after all?  And, if they didn't give you a refund, did they give you the scope back?

I have sent an email to your sbcglobal email account, but don't know if it is still active.

Lastly, if email is not working, please call the desk at: 1 (888) 445-8912 and leave the best number for me to reach you and I'll give you call.  Please let the person who answers the phone know the call is for me, and that it is about the painted scope with the reticle issue.

I know it has been some time since the issue, but I want you to know that I've not forgotten it.  The scope just never did come in, so I'd like to work with you on making sure A) you were taken care of from a refund standpoint, and B) that we figure out what happened with that reticle.

I hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Corbett

Now, THAT is customer support.

Kudos to Leatherwood for wanting to track the problem down.

I would defiantly say that is putting your money where your mouth is.  Mechanical things happen, no matter how carefully you QA/QC the product.  In my opinion, all you can ask for is for the company to take care of you when/if it does happen.  I am impressed!

corbett, good on you and e mail sent. at the time i dealt with the online store whose name would just be changed by optics talk to "competitor" if i typed it, i was told their policy was not to refund on a painted scope. i would have to confess that i was particularly persuasive at hearing this and the scope was refunded.  i doubt the arrival of this scope escaped their notice, more likely they were waiting for it.

BTW, the rifle looks like a POF.  Not sure on the model, but it has all the lines of a POF.  Nice looking stick!

Hey Randy,

Thanks for the follow up.  I was able to track the scope to its location from our weekend conversation.  I've already got a team contacting that location to see if we can retrieve that scope.  I appreciate your assistance to help me track this one down.

Take care,

Corbett

The Sporter is being retired, though it is still useable.  It will go in my study in memory of and out of respect for Jim Leatherwood....

You misread his intent... those were my words, and he meant no respect.

Here is an interesting review of an interesting new offering.  I would certainly like to try one out.  Is this what you are talking about stonefly?

David Fortier's article "Scoping your Scout Rifle" compares the Burris
2.75x Scout, Leupold's VX-II 1.5-4x28 and the Leatherwood / Hi-Lux
Optics 2-7x32 LER (Long Eye Relief).  A very nice quote from the
article...

"I let the two of them go toe to toe at 2X, 3X and 4X in bright light,
overcast conditions and low light.  After staring far too long through
these two optics, I have to say that the Hi-Lux not only stood toe to
toe with the Leupold but gave as good as it got.  Frankly, I was very
surprised as I expected the Leupold to smoke the Hi-Lux." (pg. 18,

Does Leatherwood make a muzzle loader scope? I recently bought a .50 cal and need an optic for it, I am interested in Leatherwood now seeing how stand up Corbett is being.
Thanks, Dave

anyone had any experience with this scope?

I personally have no news.  Last I heard Corbett Leatherwood was trying to track down the scope from the dealer.

Any updates? My friend has a fund that helped deploying Soldiers with eqipment and loaned out several ART Scopes M-1000's I believe. Got good reports back from them on this optic.
