I do not believe they open until Monday. I'm also curious if they are an authorized ZEISS reseller. Suppose the point is moot as I've already ordered, but the bigger selling point was being demo which I felt would fall under never sold/new for warranty coverage.

Pre-order I noted the 15% surcharge for return, but thought the original shipping was free. At checkout I was only offered various ascending scales of prices for differing types of transfer starting with UPS slow boat to China stop everywhere before handing off parcel at your friendly local USPO. This time of year, as I'm paying anyway, I'll kick in an extra three clams for the brown truck TTD. But, I've nevah paid for shipping before with any vendor.
I see the whole kit-n-caboodle here is sponsored by SWFA, eh? Perhaps constructive criticism should be dealt in minimal dose lest punishment be meted out swiftly & excommunicated with prejudice.

Come on Taggart I know you want to work up a Number 6 on 'em.
I can see an infraction from original post though my last was merely a commentary of facts as I perceive. Howevah, I'm not looking to step on any toes nor stir the proverbial pot. Thank you, your advice is duly noted. I received back to back e-mail notification of the same message. Not quite sure why that happens at times.

I will call Monday when they're open. Speaking of, may I post the conclusion of rapport with CS? Be nice I'm raising my hand asking for permission. Possibly too anxious for delivery and in attempt to work off nervous energy I'm posting off the top of my head. Not giving substance of post due diligence. Then again it could just be that I'm so focused on obtaining fifty posts that online forum blinders morphed into tunnel vision leaving little room for me cognitive strapped mind to assess surroundings. |

I see no problems with you posting what answers you find.
Know this. SWFA is a good company. Family owned, Family Operated, good morals. if you have a legitimate issue, they make it right, if you buy something that's not delivered as advertised, they'll make it right. If you want a warranty on something that goes on to non original owners. I'd say look strictly at vortex and SWFA's SS line. Only two I have personal experience with that will warranty the item not the original owner. |

My experience, I've bought Swarovski demos from SWFA that were technically never owned/registered, came with all the paper work to register them for warranty which I did. But no all optics listed are demos, most are used equipment rated A thru C, in some cases those don't have a transferable warranty, usually depends on manufacturer.

I'm not wishing to rock the boat. I can only compare this transaction w/those from other companies. I ordered Friday and this afternoon I contacted them curious about when my purchase would ship. Not yet. So, to rehash I had to pay shipping on an order that if returned would cost me a 15% restocking fee. I knew that before ordering and I've only returned one optic item in my life. But, then I pay even more to expedite shipping. First purchase leaving me only other transactions from different vendors for comparison. I know they're busy after a 10% off sale. Since this isn't their first rodeo I'm also sure they knew what to expect. I asked no other questions. No rush and I'm still working on that elusive fiftieth post enabling me to edit. After I'm notified the scope has shipped I'll pose me other inquiries and then post results.

Kewl Mike thanks for the reply. I was composing me tale w/o realizing you had posted. I need the posts anyway. This was listed as a grade B-demo. As such I felt it would ship as never sold w/paperwork and covered by warranty. I didn't bother to ask as only one remained, strike whilst the iron is hot, though through experience I've come to expected these terms under the conditions.
Besides, until it hits the door I've nothing to do save chat about the purchase.

And now, though I doubt I'll need it, I'm halfway to edit privilege.
Woo Hoo post #25, yet nada, nothin, zilch, kaputt save a ten day mirage. At least I will not be wasting any more time waiting on a purchase from the "Sample List" that is not available to sample. I suppose I should be happy that I'll not have to worry about a 15% restocking fee since it never was stocked; at least for me. The biggest waste of my time in a long while.

Well now lassies and lads gather 'round as me little saga has come most to an end. It is w/humiliation I dine on raven du jour. Attention sous chef, beaucoup roux s'il vous plait.
It would seem that I flew off the handle perhaps a bit more than required. Yesterday I received a voice message explaining that there had been an error in the warehouse inventory. The scope in question did not exist. W-h-a-a-a-a-t? At that point Skylar promptly refunded the CC and in good faith offered a ceremonial peace pipe in the version of a fifty dinero credit on future purchase. Honourable no doubt, yet I was still livid in feeling I was cut out of the herd and branded w/o just cause. So, I whimpered, whined and carried on as if I'd lost me last love in a bitter break-up. Then I pouted for a while taking care not to trip on me lower lip. After mulling it about a bit I decided I had been duly wronged. Vengeance was mine sayeth the agitated consumer. This morning I'm still stewin' a mite. So, I'm cruising other websites as I compose a grievance/pity post to announce unto the world the poor mistreatment rendered unto me by the hand of fate compounded by unknown nefarious agents of misfortune. It takes a while as I also wish to inject a dollop of humour amongst the howling/groaning/moaning and gnashing of teeth. Before I can finish up another voice message explaining in further detail, The Case of the Beguiling Scope. A temp had walked out, during the shift, on the job. After closing a search was conducted finding the magic invoice laying in an aisle. Further milling about produced the AWOL scope located in a different aisle abandoned as an orphan child. Having refunding CC Skylar contacted me this morning offering apology and the scope w/promised fifty spot discount. As well due to this being the eleventh day he threw in two-day shipping to boot. I cannot thank Skylar and SWFA enough for tackling my grievance professionally and w/compassion. I can state w/o hesitation that they went above and beyond merely taking an order or issuing a refund. My thanks and gratitude in addressing the problem, taking time to search after hrs in the warehouse. Not haphazardly but w/fine tooth comb and recovering the wayward scope. W/faith in mankind restored I return unto unfinished platter de la crow. Salute, bon appetit ...

As a first time customer it sounded a wee bit off-kilter at first, but true to form they came about nicely and I'm the better for their kind offer.

Glad it worked out. Skylar is awesome to work with up there and will ensure they make good on their issues if one arises.

I thought it had, but a recent e-mail from CS has me contemplating if the nightmare has reemerged. Out of the blue the plot thickens. I'm not going into any great detail until I hear from Skylar on this issue that cropped up. I thought after speaking in person we had full understanding and that may very well be the case. It could be a glitch via CS. This emotional rollercoaster is wearing me smooth out. As Freddy Krueger it refuses to die...

From what I understand this was the first time SWFA had a week long sale after Black Friday.... they got slammed. Glad they took care of you, they always do.

Its hard to swallow when you feel things aren’t going your way. I have been a SWFA customer for years and have always been a happy customer even when issues have happened. They always do their best to correct and make things right.
The emails don’t always agree with what Skylar says. In my experience the system has functions it follows but word of the actual CS rep has been accurate. |

As goes the old saying, 'It all comes out in the warsh'. I was looking for a wee bit more paperwork than the receipt, e-mailed to me late yesterday afternoon, provided which I received from someone else at CS not Skylar.
As far as I'm concerned Skylar's word is good as gold. In the CS e-mail I detected what I perceived to be a gaffe. For some reason the paperwork I sought was packaged w/scope. At that time I could find nothing else to collaborate one way or the other. Naturally, by this time SWFA was closed. My mind racing wondering if it was destined to slip through me fingers. Yet, as par for the course an e-mail to Skylar was promptly answered this morning and my potential issue addressed w/courtesy and professionalism. It's on the truck for delivery as we speak. My only worry now is whether warranty is offered as this model has been discontinued for several yrs. Not the glass or mechanics, but I'm not familiar w/rheostat service life. Anywho, disaster averted, Grinch foiled und Merry X-mas; each and every one. And a special thanks to Skylar, CS and the warehouse for taking care of me during a hectic time. |

Glad it all worked out. I know SWFA has grown leaps and bounds since the last time I was there personally but they are a small crew most of the time... normally they get some seasonal help so I imagine between training newbies, the longest sale they've ever done to the up-ticking economy to the great pricing, their orders probably hit a all time high.... certain orders inevitably will have issues but I can say with 100% certainty that SWFA makes it right.
