Went out to dinner with Mrs. BF during a rain storm and fought a flash flood to get home to a washed out driveway. Cleaned out my clogged up culverts just in time for the second wave of frog choking, duck drowning, gully washer to come through. I watched my main culvert go from working fine to totally clogged in just seconds. I fought with gravel rake and shovel for 3 hours to keep that thing open, and finally won. It was like liquid gravel coming down that ditch, if water got on the grate, it was covered with gravel and blocked. I got a really good workout Saturday night.
Almost forgot to mention that a road we took getting home collapsed just after we drove over it.
The good news is the flash flood is over, and the Ohio river crests today at 1300hrs.

Glad to hear you guys are ok!

Now I want to know who the hell designed your driveway???

I don't know who designed it, but Loonyville Gas & Electric (LG&E) built it when they put in the high tension lines across my property. There used to be a straight road that came up the hill on a ridge that would have been easy to maintain, but at some time a section of property where the drive met the road was sold and a house was built on it. LG&E just bulldozed and blasted a road up the hillside that would last long enough for them to do their work on the lines. I could go on about everything that is wrong with the drive, but I don't have the time. I have made great progress with the road, and I have plans for more improvements. I just need a backhoe and a cutting torch for now.

There were 13 inch diameter gas line pipes used for culverts. I've moved most of them around where they do more good, and placed them so the top portion of the pipe is just a little over the surface. I had slots cut parallel to the pipe that was sticking above the surface to act as trench drains. They work great at taking water off the driveway surface and preventing wash. I need a torch to add more slots in 2 pipes and to cut slots in a 20 Inch pipe that I'm going to add when I get a backhoe. I already have the 20" pipe. It will replace the one that constantly keeps clogging.

Morning guys.

For some reason winter/snowy photos are so calming to me....guess its the blank canvas effect.

BF, will the power company help maintain the road at all? I mean do they still use it ever?

It does looks pretty. Makes the commute a pain though. Also I'm supposed to drive to my folks place in rural Wales on Friday... could be interesting. Glad the scooby is AWD and has all season tyres on it...

A couple of years ago when they cleared the right of way, they rocked, graded, and trimmed trees from my drive, because they were using the drive, and bringing heavy equipment over it. I didn't think about the 20" pipe until after they were done.

I had an STI for a hot minute, fun car

BF,  think if you called them and asked for help fixing it they'd be receptive?

Just got back from seeing my orthopedic guy. The knee has been acting up so he stuck me with a shot of cortisone. It’s been 5 months since the gel injections so I have to wait a little over a month before the insurance company will ok them again.

I hate cortisone injections.... I had to get them in my elbow 3 times when I had some issues...... hurt for a week after each shot.
