Mornin' Lynn. Nothing like starting your Tuesday in front of a Federal Judge in Chicago. Thankfully, she was very polite and indulging.

One of the big benefits to having a boy! The wife and I's wedding wasn't overly expensive my any means but it certainly wasn't cheap either. Knowing the cash that goes into one makes my head hurt, especially now that i have my own son, a house, etc etc lol.
My only "time off" now is when the boy takes a nap.

You guys with boys just need to shut the F*** UP! Two girls here, and unfortunately/fortunately, they took after their mommy, so they are pretty. I'm in for a fun time in 8 years, when the girls are 12 and 14. You know the saying, with a boy, you only have to worry about 1 d**k in Dallas; with a girl, 1 million.

It is true....i feel such a huge sense of pride and honor at being a father, but in the back of my mind i definitely feel like i'll worry just a little less than if i had a daughter, especially in the teenage to 20's timeframe.
It's cliche but true. I honestly think fathers worry more about their little girls than boys.

I know I did!
AS it turned out my son was a total boss jock and he would never admit it but he was afraid of girls in high school...much too my relief!!!!! Since high school.... thats a different story as he awakened to the wonders of the opposite sex his last two years of College! Thank God he is a bit old fashioned in his valued and didn't go whoring!
Now my daughter.... Acquired a few gray hairs with that one!!! Rather opinionated and headstrong. She was ahead of the curve... Was the tallest person in the Elementary School except for the janitor when she moved up to middle-school (Jr High). Started Cheer leading in Elementary and stopped when she went into high school cause she decided to go gothic!!! She tried to differentiate herself from her brother's jockdom and got hooked on the attention (thru shock value) she got from everybody for dressing outlandishly and dying her hair multiple colors.
The list goes on and on.... she was multiple times a more bumpy road than my son. But luckily both got good grades in school and both have a great work ethic and have become contributing members of society. Much to my surprise and pride my daughter has turned out to be a very good mother. I was quite worried about that cause her mother left when she was 5 and really didn't see her much so I was by far the biggest influence in her life and I'm a differnet kind of mutha!!!!

Girls just tend to bring so much more drama into their lives, for the most part from what i've seen through the years. Now, with that being said most do mature at an earlier age than boys but are also FAR MORE vindictive. Piss off a teenage boy and it's like a passing thunderstorm. Piss off a teenage girl and holy cripes, lock the doors and ride out the hurricane!
I know i had zero clue about girls in HS. I did manage to have sex for the first time there, but damn it was like shooting pool with a rope. I had no idea what the hell i was doing. I kind of got along with everyone though. I played sports but certainly wasn't a jock as the guys in that crowd were mostly major league douchebags. I didn't really find my stride until my Jr year when i met 2 of my best friends who are still such today. And if any guy claims he was some stud with the girls at those ages, 75% of time they're full of sh*te. It wasn't until i was about 20 and had been deployed a few times that i really built up confidence to approach the ladies. But I'm very fortuante to have grown up in a 2 parent household, when you look at the divorce numbers in this country. It really shaped me to be more respectful and value a real relationship with women. Cost me a few times, but you live and learn. I feel like i'm a better person, husband and father because i had 2 parents giving me direction, discipline and trust growing up.

I did what I could to give them a foundation at home. It was actually much better after the wife left because we were polar opposites about discipline and the kids would quickly play us off against each other and there mother was clueless and uneducatable.
Once she was gone a things settled both kids improved dramatically in school and excelled!

Sometimes people are simply better off apart.
Plus you've shared some absolutely hilarious stories about the ex so that is a benefit as well.

Lynn probably won't check in till 10ish... Unless he's off dealing with dad. Hope everything went well at the Doctor's.
Yesterday and today have been nicer days. A little cooler and no rain! Hope those clouds are all bled dry if they are coming this way! I don't want the tomatoes exploding from too much water.
I have to go into town tonight. I'm hoping I get back early enough to finally shoot the 91/30!!!
Something or other has been popping up and stopping me for the last two weeks!!!

Oh BTW my son put in a bid on a farmhouse about 4 miles away. It was built in 1886!!! It's in great shape and has a 3 car detached garage that he is in love with. I'm torn.. hope he gets it, afraid he will, secretly betting he won't qualify cause of debt to income ratio (student loans from Penn State).
Time will tell!

Mornin comrades
Dad's Dr. visit went well. Tried to get the nurse to yank them out and cause dad some pain for all those whoopins I got as a kid She wouldn't do it, fortunately. Got a lot done yesterday, but still have more to do.
Hey G, I have a cousin that offered his daughter 40 grand to allope, instead of paying for her wedding. She didn't take his offer. That was 35 years ago too. That was some wedding.
Bud, I had a house in Old Looneyville that was built about that time (1870s). It was a real PITA, beautiful house and interesting, but a PITA. Just sayin.

Mornin' Gents. Another hot one in North Central Texas. Speaking of little girls, my oldest is sitting in my office watching "despicable me" on my ipad. Moments like these are the ones I'll remember.
