Mornin' all, got home from Raleigh late last nite. Wind was blowing 30 and a bit of snow on the way from the airport.

Expected to see a pile of snow when I got up, Nada. Wind is at 27 out of the west now and ideal for lake effect.

Weathermen are a bunch of liars. Saturday night they were saying rain changing to snow about 6:00 AM Sunday, but the temps wont drop below 32* before 10:00 AM, so no accumulation or a lite dusting at best. Woke up at 8:00AM with about an inch of snow the ground and the temps in the teens. The temps dropped so fast that there was a thin sheet of ice on just about everything.
Sunday evening the weather men were saying, "Yep, happened just like we predicted". Liars!

Morning Everybody,  At least with a gravel drive you have some traction coming down that hill....

It's a little warmer here...just a little...

The trip down and up (with a load of water) the drive wasn't bad. The drive to and from the water station was a little concerning, because you didn't know when you were going to hit an ice patch.

Yes, I just read about David Bowie...and Paul Revere the other day.

Well, we are leaving for Big Bend Wednesday morning at Still Dark Thirty.  We'll be down there with no firearms ( Thanks, Washington!!  Howdy )  and there are definitely mountain lions abounding in places where we will be going.  A boy was attacked a year ago by a lion down there.  Maybe we should bring some big walking sticks ( staffs ) or something.

Any suggestions, any of you Alligator Wrestlers?

Mid 30s here. They're talking snow shortly. A panic has settled in on the city. Snow removal crews have prepared and prepositioned everywhere. It's going to be devastating. They're expecting up to two INCHESRoll on Floor Laughing
