Morning gents!  It's been London weather since Sunday.  I'm supposed to go Stripper Fishinig on the Chesapeake Bay tomorrow, I hope the weather plays nice...  The fish don't care but it's a lot nicer if all the females aren't constantly zitching..... Confused

BudPerm,

I am envious you are going fishing for Stripers! I was supposed to go a couple of years ago, a friend of mine was organising a trip for Stripers and Turkey but unfortunately he had rather a big set back with the Big C so he’s been laid up for a couple of years.

Tight lines my friend!

Thanks Scrummy!  Being that the Chesapeake is in my back yard it only makes sense!!!Wink  I had a 19ft Crestliner I used to take out on the bay but with trailering it about 50 miles each way it got old fast.... That and my daughter wrecked my tow vehicle learning to drive.... Confused

Ah good stuff Budperm! I'm thinking of getting a 4x4 that can tow next year, the Subaru is great but something with more offroad ability would be useful at times

Mornin gents

Nice weather here too.

Hey Bud, when I went stripper fishing, it was usually around 7th St and Berry Blvd. My favorite was the Kitten House on Taylor Blvd.; it was on my beatEmbarrassed

Morning all.  Slow start today.  Had a pile on my desk waiting for me from the day off yesterday.

Morning folks,

What's the best bait for strippers? Is it a single 50 or is it 5 five 10s on a hook?

We've had some rain here with has cleared the air of pollen and dust which is rather welcome.

H-Day and I can't wait to get to the weekend for some plinking!

5 straight days of rain here and it will continue the rest of the week. My grass still hasn't been mowed in more than a week now. I'm going to need a damn bush hog to get it done if it ever stays dry enough to begin with.....

I'm not giving up my stripper fishing secrets; not that I could use them now anyway, but 30+ years ago I was getting the limit. They were beauties too. Then the warden showed up, and put up a  "No Fishing" sign and strictly enforced it.

Well since strippers were out of question i went striper fishing instead....

It was about a 2 hour drive to the Marina, I got lost twice finding it predawn... Angry
Finally rolled into the boatyard almost 20 minutes late... Ouch

We immediately loaded and launched.  The marina was smack in the middle of the Chesapeake so we didn't have to go far to reach the fishing grounds.  The boat ran planner boards and we had 18 to 20 lines in the water once trolling.  It was the first week after the Spring Trophy Season.  We managed to limit out before 10am.  We were back at the dock and the Captain cleaned our fish for free.  I got home by 12 noon (cause I stopped and had lunch on the way home)....

Considering the lousy weather it was a nice day and everyone went home with a bag of nice Striper filets
It rained all the way to the boat but let up upon arrival.  Drizzled off and on most of the time we were out.

Rained on the way home, but I didn't care.  We we first started trolling only 2 other boats were nearby.  We when headed in there were dozens in our immediate vicinity, I guess the word had gotten out... Tongue

Bud, have you ever seen this much rain? By my count, we're at 6 straight days with moderate to a lot of rain and the forecast has rain every day until next Tuesday now....unreal.

For cheap American beer it's not bad, but I'm not a beer drinker so what do I know.
