Afternoon gents.

Yeah, I got the flu shot. It doesn't really prevent you from getting the flu, you're just not as sick when you do get it.

Dan, get the zero turn. If you have anything more than a typical suburban yard, it's almost a must. They're not perfect, and there are places I can't get to with mine (52 inches), and hills are tricky, but the weed eater and brush mower take care of those places.

Been here long enough. Cough, cough.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Well, The Zero-turn has returned to service.... And I must say she's cutting beautifully!!!  Finished re-assembly Saturday morning.
I was able to get ou and cut the yard Saturday and she didn't even strain going thru 8"+ tall grass....

It started drizzling within 20 minutes of me finishing the yard, boy I'm glad I didn't procrastinate like I'm prone to do....  It rained all day Sunday... Say What

Garden flooded again... Maybe I'll get it all in this week if the good lord cooperates... Cool
I have a riding mower, a self-propelled "push" mower, two DR Field and Brush mowers, an electric mower and a bush hog... my wife wants a zero-turn mower.  There is probably one in my future... I could always just say "NO"... (yeah, Right...)

You'll  quickly  fall in love with the zero turn.  They cut so much faster than a conventional rider and with a better cut to boot.  They don't like hills a hole lot as they steer with the rear wheels.  If you got rocky soil or wash board ground look for one with suspension like a ferris.....
Depends on how steep the hills are and if you have a run out or not. And if they are wet. Going up real steep hills  have never been an issue for me. Going down real steep hills is trickier especially if you need to turn. Just start very slow. And if you start to lose control(sliding) give it a little speed until you regain control. Which is very spooky in the beginning.  And if wet we use something else to mow or come back later.

And yes they do cut much better and faster due to the deeper deck and larger discharge opening.

Good morning folks,

How goes today? Well after pleasant sun and ~17C over most of the week, we’ve got to Friday and it is now overcast cold and grey….

Any weekend plans? Not sure what I’m doing yet bar going to the opticians. Might sneak to the range on Sunday afto if I can manage it.

Scrummy

Mornin gentsCoffee

Well I think I'm getting better. At least that's what I keep telling myself; my head just doesn't agree.

Mostly sunny, and going into the 80s today.

Morning gents!

Well I succeeded in POing my back Saturday...  Hit the yard about 9am.  Tilled the garden. Weeded the yard, all around the house, shed and rock garden.  Cut the yard (2.44 acres), planted the garden.  Sweep the entire yard of cut grass.  Got done about 3pm feeling a little sore.  Went inside and got something to eat and could barely get out of my chair afterwards...  Didn't sleep worth a damn Saturday night.  My lower back was tight as a drum.  It bothered me all Sunday too.  About half way thru last night I ditched my pillow and that seemed to help a good bit.  I'm still a little slow to get moving but once in gear I'm fine....  Getin old sucks!

We had Tornado warnings just North of me last night till 7:30pm.

Hope the freakin Garden doesn't get washed out AGAIN!!! Ouch

Mornin gentsCoffee

Back to work, but aint over da flu yet. Not concagous, but till feel like chit, an can't breed.

Awful weather here too. Mostly clear skies, and in the 50s going to mid 70s with low humidity and winds 9-18mph. Just can't stand it.

Scrummy, your not going on a holiday; your going on a 2 week drunk in France.

Bud, I was weeks behind when I got the flu. I walked around the place yesterday and just got very, very depressed. I need another pension so I can get some work done.

got back late Saturday night from 4 days in our Nation's Capital.   First time for me and it was incredible! The monuments that I got to visit in person were spectacular.  they were much bigger than I imagined and the White House... much smaller.  Funny how that works out.  the Food was amazing and I even got a chance to watch my Cubbies destroy the Nat's!  Great trip.
