Here you go Julio, kind of expensive, not a 42mm objective but it is a dang nice scope with very nice glass.  http://swfa.com/IOR-15-8x26-Tactical-35mm-Rifle-Scope-P6759.aspx

Thanks Jason!
That is a nice scope indeed. I thought you said that IOR 's Illumination was not very good though....?
Spendy lil devil isn't it, but if a guy just uses one optic on the rifle its worth it to me.

Its to bright IMO, but the rest of the scope would be very nice.

Here is a mount to do what SVT was talking about.  http://trijicon.com/user/parts/products1.cfm?PartID=827&back_row=3&categoryID=13

I see what you mean you guys. I would have to take the Back up Irons off to mount it. Its still a very good idea, I will have to PM you later Jason to see your set-ups. I cannot remember anything any more.. I just remember you have built some very cool AR's. Im vewry happy with the RRA Carbines if you guys ever want a nice rifle for a moderate cost, I would recommend them highly..

I are back with only ONE mushroom after covering about 3 mi!!  It's too early yet.  I'll try again the beginning of the week.

I'll tell ya what though,it's dangerous dry out there. Every hollow I was in,the runs were dry.  State wide burn ban on and the scanners goin crazy w/brush fires.

Dryness would account for the lack of shrooms, they need it!  Well Earl at least you actually made it to the woods.  I remembered seeing a bunch of old apples trees down at the end of my dead end street.  Had to be a old farm orchard at one time but long abandoned.  Figured  I'd go poke around it.  Got collared by a neighbor and I swear that lady must breath through here ears cause OMG can she talk!!!  over an hour before she shuts up long enough for me to say hello!  Anyway the light started failing so I just turned around and puttered on back home.  Strike one for the Shrooms! Wink

I just found this site and was talking to another neighbor on my walk back to teh house... he told me about two other old abandoned and overgrown apple orchards within a mile of the house!  I have high hopes!

Sounds like you got some GOOD leads!!  As far as the dryness goes it's not the ground that's dry it's the vegetation.  I really think it's a bit too early. I'm thinking the middle of next week.  Since your a bit farther north it might be a little later.  But it's best to just keep checking when you can.  Gonna surprise me if you don't find some!  GOOD link to.  I've never found any around Sycamores though.  We have but a few Thorny Aspens and they're mostly around homesteads. GOOD LUCK to ya!!
I seen you and G talking about traction problems with your son's car and G's truck.  I was showed a trick by Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin YEARS ago.  I kept breaking traction bars(all kinds) on my '69 440ci Dodge Dart.  They told me to just eliminate the traction bars and build up the pinion snubber on top of the rear housing.  If your running strictly track, butt it up against the body. For the street, leave a 1" clearence. As you accelerate the body squats down on the snubber which in turn transfers that momentum and weight down on to the rear tires.  WORKED like a charm for me!!!!!!

I hear ya. You've been missed my friend.

Earl.  I have tried all those tricks to get traction and the only think i have found is to pack the bed of the truck with sandbags from the wheelhumps back.  Its so light and that much torque its almost impossible to hook up.   I can go from a cruising speed of about 25-30mph and stomp it and loose the rear end all together.

Actually calling for 50% chance of a rain/snow mix. Probably won't get much of anything.  Did have frost this morning.

Don't know what to tell ya,G.  Pickups are light in the arse, that's for sure, but they also don't transfer the weight to the rear very well. Might have something to do with the cab and bed being separate.  Maybe a weighted rear bumper of some sort.

Dry up there to is it Hunter.  Be CAREFUL!

Gotta a "HIGH" wildfire warning for this afternoon due to dropping humidity and high winds.  Could get interesting.
