I'm watching the hummingbirds battle between two feeders on the deck. They get very territorial and try to keep the others away from the feeders. We had to put up 2 feeders at opposite ends of the deck to make the aggressive hummingbird fly further between his attacks.

I have trumpet vines on my back patio, so the dog-fights are almost constant!

Who would ever think something so small and pretty could be so aggressive and deadly to each other!   I've seen them basically harpoon one another in they aerial dogfights....which are amazing to watch by themselves!

Ugh!  Daylight!
I got talked into a concert at the last minute!  Myu sister called Friday night and said her friend had backed out of going to the Jimmy Buffet Concert at the Nissan Pavillion in Va outside DC.
I said what the heck it's been over 25 years since I last went to a concert....

Let me tell you it was unlike any concert I'vs ever been to.  There people I went with rented a tourbus and we arrived at the Pavillion parking lot about 1:30pm.  By 2:00pm we were grilling and feeding our faces and of course drinking!

The thing that really made it surreal to me was the age range of the concert goers.  I met several 3 generation groups...kids, mom & pop and grandparents all partying together!  People were dressed up everywhere as sharks, hula-girls and tons of parrot wear.  I would see a great costume from afar only to realize it was a 55+yr old wearing.

So we partied from about 2pm till 7:30pm then went into the pavillion were we had lawn seats.  Again it was impressive to see the wide age range of people there and the entire crowd of over 35K people sang along with about half the songs.

Everybody had a great time!  Buffet put on a great show!  It was the last show of his summer tour.
Although I hate his political views the man reminds me of Florida and good times!  He obviously has a good time and so does everybody else there!

Had a great time.  Didn't get home until 2:45am!!!!

I've actually designed and am in the beginning stage of development of miniaturized machine guns for humming birds.  They actually have the BEST dogfight maneuvers possible.  IF I can teach them how to control the firing mechanism, it will be AWESOME...
