Hi guys, I'm a new member, I just acquired a rifle with a parker hale 4x32 on it. I'm after some information about it, I did a Google search and couldn't find anything. Are these scopes any good? Roughly how old would it be? Thanks in advance.

My guess would be from the 70's.

Without seeing the image attachment: 70´s and made in Japan I have seen 2 different Parker Hale scopes in my lifetime, both 4x, one 4x32 was called PHP (Parker Hale Premiere) the other one 4x40 called PHB (Parker Hale B?) Probably the same quality as the japanese made Tasco´s and Bushnell´s (B & L) of the same era. Gerry Atric

Admin are going to post a pic of the scope soon, you reckon it will be better than a made in China sabre airgunner 2-7x32? I know these are cheap and nasty optics but I picked the sabre up for basically free and the .22 it's going on is just gonna be thrown in the back of the ute so i don't want to put an expensive scope on it |

Hello Simonh, The old Parker Hale may be a better scope (the drawback might be that it´s parallax-free at 100 or 150 yards which isn´t optimal on a .22) Compare the optics/mechanics between the scopes AND decide but have in mind that you might get some good money if you sell the Parker Hale to a collector/enthusiast or keep it for a Parker Hale rifle/scope combo. If you have a look at the attached link you may see the resemblance with the Parker Hale: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-glenfield-rifle-scope-x-32-170843423 There´s another japanese brand that´s almost similar: Gibson (same manufacturer for all three ?) No worries Gerry thanks for the info, took a few shots with it today and decided I need the higher power scope for the small vermin, I'll probably chuck the parker-hale on Ebay and see what I get for it, thanks again mate
