The Boss and I are contemplating moving out of Florida. The people, traffic, noise, heat, etc. are getting a bit much. We have been researching places in the north Georgia mountains, and are currently investigating Hiawassee, Blue Ridge and Blairsville. Anybody out there have any knowledge of, or comments about, those locales? Good, bad, or ugly... speak up if you have a mind to. Thanks.

Hiawassee is nice I have a place 3 minutes from down town. It's always been a slow relaxed place.

Well, Scrummy, you would have to dress correctly for the tropical heat.

When I was in the LPD training unit, I'd have to spend 4 to 6 hours a day on the driving track for weeks at a time. After the first couple of days going without the provided pith helmet, because it didn't look cool. My head got so sun burned I could hardly touch it. I started wearing one every time I walked out on the track. Some of the guys would make fun of my helmet when I put it on. I would just look at them, smile and say, "At least I have a hat to pith in".
