Thanks,
Steve

Trijicon for low light, no question.

I've owned many Conquests, sold them all for Trijicons on my hog (low light ) guns.

Thanks Rancid Coolaid.  My last scope was a Conquest.  Pretty good darn scope but looking for the next step up.  The Trijicon might be great for low light situations up here in AK.

To clarify: Trijicon's advantage in low light is due to its reticle.  In terms of overall glass quality, Trijicon and Conquest are pretty close with a slight edge likely going to Conquest (depending on configuration of course).

Mostly true.

The reticles do shift the balance dramatically.

I have both, the Conquest is a 3-9x40 and the Trijicon is a 2.5-10x56. The Trijicon is brighter and better for nightime hog hunting which is why I bought it. That being said its also much bigger and heavier. The Conquest is no slouch for night hunting either if you have the Z plex reticle. Its crosshairs are thick everywhere except the very center so they arent that hard to see. If hog hunting is what your going to use it for go with the Trijicon. You might tale a look at the Meopta Meostar with illuminated reticle too. Its very nice if you have the bucks.

When I was looking to buy a high dollar scope here a few years back. The sales man said Zeiss glass is the best.He said it best I would love to sell you a Nikon Monarch but you just can't beat the glass on the Zeiss.

I have only owned one Conquest, frankly, wasn't that impressed with it
Perhaps, it was just me sample of one...

I really dig the Accupoints
I have done back to back tests into at dusk into the night with an Accupoint 3-9 and a Kahles 3-10x50 (which to my eyes was much sharper than the Zeiss)

Both would enable you to shoot a deer under trees on a dark moonless night well past legal hunting time  (Kahles had the #4 reticle)
The Kahles was slightly brighter/sharper but either could "take the shot"

My hog gun (Wilson 6.8) has the Accupoint 3-9 with a green dot...

Took my conquest out this past weekend to test her out.  set her on 10x and she worked flawlessly right up to dark.  Pick up 2 feeding deer at about 500 yards at dusk.  My eyes are not that great but the glass and reticle gave me no problems, in fact, i'm going to swfa to pick up another for my 30.06.  Excellent
