so I am brand new to scoped in general. But I just purchased a swfa 5-20 hd scope and had a quick question. I was playing around with the magnification ring and somehow accidentally unscrewed the eye piece. There is a smaller ring and the eye piece ring both of which are below the magnification ring. I just screwed the piece back down until it was tight, but figured I would ask if this is normal and what function if any does it play?

thanks

YES this is NORMAL - to set the scope for your eye you loosen the locking ring and screw the eye piece one direction or another looking at the sky then looking away then looking back. When the crosshairs appear really sharp that is where you want it screw the locking ring up against it and lock it in place.
