I purchased a Leupold VX-R (ballistic fire dot) in early October and discovered that it eats batteries. A new battery would last about 15 to 20 minutes before it was completely drained. I sent it back to Leupold 3 times before they finally admitted that it was, indeed, defective. I am still waiting for a replacement.

Does anyone here know of this battery drain issue with these scopes?

Thanks, Ken W

Many illuminated scopes have picky battery caps they have to be super tight or it'll shut off.

I have a 3-9x with the Firedot and have had no issues at all. Matter of fact, I'm still on the first battery.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.
