People that have then know what they have and don't usually want to let them go. Prices have doubled when you find one on Ebay.

I used to have a couple of those.  Nice scopes.  I havn't  seen any of them for remotely reasonable prices for quite some time.

The two scopes you just mentioned are not even in the same class of optics. They are like apples and oranges.

The Meopta is a good enough scope that small improvements in performance cost larger and larger amounts of money.
The Kahles is quite an improvement over the Meopta in more than one category and it's price reflects that fact. Here's a relative performance scale- it's several years old, but quite valid today:

If you don't buy the scope, please pass along his information to me, as I'm interested in buying it.

Was the 2-7 Kahles for $625 a CL or the AH? The CL  has better glass than the AH. Both are fine scopes. I would like to swap my AH for another CL. Both were priced under $400 when I bought them. I do not think you will find any scope, better in the 2-7 range than the Kahles CL, priced under the $625 price you quoted.

is the plex reticle in the CL 2-7 pretty bold? comparable to a zeiss perhaps?

Posted By: RifleDude
Date Posted: July/16/2013 at 15:32
No, it's not bold at all; it's actually pretty thin, which is the only weakness I can think of for that scope/reticle combo. The Zeiss Z-plex is MUCH bolder. It's still usable, it's just not as bold as I'd prefer for low light use. I have a CL2-7X36 with plex reticle, and I wish it had the 4A reticle.

Agreed. I doubt a finer 2-7X scope has ever been created before or since the legendary Kahles CL 2-7X36. I consider it the Holy Grail of 1" tube, compact "tweener" scopes.

i may end up with this 4a then as long as he still has it   and if its the CL

Have three of the CL 2-7s in 4a and MultiZero.  Great scopes.  The plex is not my choice for the CL series.  I have one on a 3-9 CL, but it is for long range use.  Not the first scopes I would sell from my stash.

Love love love the 4a reticle on the 2-7x36 scope, very fast, brings your eye to the center very quickly.
