Was changing channels on TV and happened to come across the movie "Air Force One" with Harrison Ford. I always thought it was a very cheesy, hokey movie with impossibly stupid plot twists. Air Force One is hijacked by terrorists who demand that unless a notorious Kazakhstani dictator prisoner is released, they will begin killing a hostage onboard AFO every hour, including the POTUS. Regardless of the silliness of the movie overall, ironically, I happened to stop on the channel at about the time the "Secretary of Defense" character tells the "Vice President" character:

"The United States does not negotiate with terrorists. It's been our bedrock principle for 25 years. You can't get into them now; it will be open season on the United States. History will judge you by what you do right now."

At the time that movie was made, that line had significant meaning, enough that it was a central part of the plot theme.

I guess Hollywood won't be able to use that plot device for political hostage movies anymore, eh?

Every hour the terrorists will throw a heterosexual Conservative out of the plane until the President releases a bunch of terrorists.  But the President doesn't give in!!  He's a real Patriot!!
He's a Democrat!!  When they run out of straight people and try to grab the gay Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton nukes Tehran from a bunker at the Pentagon and saves the day!!
